[UPDATE] Work completed successfully late yesterday afternoon. We’re now back at N+1 on the air-con units.
One of our two redundant air-con units has developed a fault; the second unit kicked in automatically and the everything is running correctly but until this unit is fixed (we are waiting for parts to be delivered for the engineer to install) we running at less than full redundancy.

UPDATE: the electrical company replaced the sub-station fuse & the phase came back on-line.
There is currently a power outage affecting the area around our Data Centre in Huntingdon. The generator is providing power as it should – however services should be considered at risk.
UK Power networks are aware and have an engineer on route to replace what they believe is a blown fuse at the local substation
We will update this as we know more.

This test has now been delayed until 21st.
During the day of 12th January 2015 we are having a full service on our generator including a load bank test which will stress test our generator and ‘prove’ it is fully working and able to take the load from our data centre. This will not affect the ‘normal’ usage in our data centre.
However at times during the work this will mean the generator is not able to take the load IF a power issue occurs. We do still have our on site generator and we are not anticipating any issues – however as there is a small risk we are publishing this in advance.

UPDATE: this work has been successfully completed.
Our UPS at Harbour Exchange Square (HEX) in London is showing a battery fault and we have replacements on the way.
NOTE this UPS is in addition to the Data Centres own UPS and generator.
Subject to the arrival of the new batteries we are planning to replace the battery pack in the evening on Tuesday 6th January. This should not cause an outage as tney are designed to be swapped while the unit remains on.
However with all work on this kind there is a small risk.

There is a Power cut in the area around our Avro Court (Huntingdon) Data Centre.
Power to the data centre is currently being maintained by our UPS and generator on site
UK Power Networks are working to restore the mains power to the area. In the mean time power should be considered at risk, However our UPS and Generator are working currently so there should be no issues.
Mains Power was restored just after 23:30 we are monitoring but have switched back from Generator to mains power for now.

We are aware that some u8sers on BT based Broadband packages may be seeing slower than normal speeds at times. This is due to a combination of higher than normal usage (we are assuming this is related to the Olympics) and BT capacity issues in London. We are chasing BT for a resolution to this and working our hardest to ensure that we are able to provide the best speed possible.
Please note that our leased lines and o2 and cable and wireless connections are not affected in any way.
We apologise for any issues caused and are working with BT to resolve this as soon as possible.
